Features overview.

Design "...we build our cabinets to match you and your space."

Our cabinets are designed to fit your space using the latest engineering software to provide plan, elevation, and 3D views. Unlike “Big Box Stores” and cabinet retailers, our cabinets are designed to fit your space without the need for large filler strips at walls and adjacent cabinets. Instead of trying to match you to a product, we build our cabinets to match you and your space. Many other cabinet retailers only offer cabinets in width increments of 3” and charge a significant up charge for “odd” sizes. We have no predefined widths, so there are no “odd” sizes or extra charges.

Details"...that add up to a much more attractive cabinet."

We utilize many little details that add up to a much more attractive cabinet. Some examples include end panels that hide the side of the doors to provide a cleaner look when viewing your cabinetry at any angle. We also extend our fridge gables and tall cabinets to extend past the counter edge. This provides a cleaner transition from counter to cabinet. It’s these and other subtle details that add up to a much more attractive cabinet.

Door Styles"...over 200 different door styles."

The Mills Group offers well over 200 different door styles in just about any wood species including Cherry, Maple, Oak, Walnut, Alder, Ash, Birch, Hickory, and Mahogany. Other species are also available, just ask.

Finishes"...an almost infinite selection."

The Mills Group has an excellent selection of “factory finish” stain, paint, and glaze colours to choose from as well as a “custom finish” with an almost infinite selection of stains, paints, and glazes.

Applied Ends and Gables"...perfectly match your doors."

The Mills Group uses applied end panels to all exposed cabinet ends. These are manufactured from real wood veneer and stained to perfectly match your doors. Other cabinet companies may use melamine for their end panels and gables in a color that “closely” matches the cabinet doors. We can also use actual doors for the applied end panels to create a truly custom look. The use of an applied end panel also allows for easy repair/replacement should a panel become damaged.

Moldings"...endless selection of moldings to choose from..."

The Mills Group has an almost endless selection of moldings to choose from and all are made from solid wood and stained to perfectly match your cabinet doors. Other companies may use a molding that has a thermofoil wrap in a color that “closely” matches your cabinet doors.

Interiors"...extremely durable, scratch, dent, and moisture resistant..."

We build our cabinets using thermally fused melamine in white or hard rock maple. This provides for an extremely durable, scratch, dent, and moisture resistant cabinet. If you prefer, our cabinets can be built using pre-finished veneer core plywood.

Functional Hardware"...the leader in functional hardware solutions..."

Our cabinets are built using hinges and drawer slides manufactured by Blum. Blum is the leader in functional hardware solutions and provides a lifetime warranty on their hardware.

Drawers"...soft close full extension."

We offer a dovetailed hardwood drawer with soft close undermount full extension slides or a ¾ extension metal side drawer box.

Accessories...and so much more.

We offer a complete assortment of cabinet accessories from pull-out waste centers, lazy-susans, cutlery inserts, roll-out shelves, spice racks, etc. We have it all.

Installation"...excellent execution in detail."

Unlike “Big Box Stores” and cabinet retailers, we do not sub our installations out to contractors whose only interest is to get the job done as quickly as possible. The Mills Group installs all of its cabinetry using the proper techniques to ensure correct alignment and structure. Our goal is to provide you with proper installation, with excellent execution in detail and workmanship in a timely manner. We ensure our cabinets are level, solid, and the installation of moldings and such is done with a minimal amount of mechanical fasteners so there are few, if any, visible nail holes. Your cabinetry is only as good as its installation, and we strive for excellence.

Process overview.

Design Consultation

The first step is to meet with you to gather information so that we can provide you with an estimate. The more information you can provide to us at this stage, the more accurate our estimate will be. We will present some door styles, finish options, and accessories to help you with your selections. A good idea is to create a scrapbook of ideas and photos to help us identify your particular needs and style. We will measure your space and incorporate your wants and needs to come up with an estimate. We will provide you with a copy of the estimate, which may include some simple drawings, and follow up with you after you have had a chance to review the information. We also ask that you share an approximate budget for the project with us at this time. We will do everything we can to maximize the features of your new kitchen at your budget. There is no point in us designing a $20,000 kitchen when your budget is $10,000. We are more than happy to provide prices for different scenarios, so please feel free to ask.

Design Review

Should you decide to move forward with your project, we will collect a small fee towards your purchase and will provide you with accurate drawings and samples of your new project. We will firm up all selections regarding door styles, moldings, colors, appliances, and accessories. We will review our contract and your new cabinet specifications to be signed off prior to fabrication.

Fabrication

Once the design review is completed and you have signed off on the design, we will collect a deposit towards your new cabinetry. At this point we will engineer your new kitchen and fabricate all of your new cabinets.

Delivery and Installation

Once your cabinets are manufactured we will deliver your new cabinets to the project site. This usually takes place between 6 and 8 weeks after we have a design signed off. At this point we collect another payment towards your purchase. We then proceed to install your new cabinetry. Upon completion of the installation, and upon your complete satisfaction, we collect the final payment towards your purchase.
